A BIG Thank You to a group of Lumpkin Coalition Volunteers who made a big difference on the Logan Turnpike Trail on June 4th, 2022. This was a National Trails Day Event, with support from the Chattahoochee National Forest, Chattooga District.

An intrepid group of volunteers!

The work party concentrated on removing brush and overgrown areas with sling blades and lopers. This was the first maintenance work on the trail in over two years due to Covid-19. The trail is open and a pleasant hike. A small group continued the work on June 15th, and the trail is in much better shape. We plan one more work day with a cross cut saw crew to remove a few more downed trees.
